Every little bit helps

This morning SustainAbility Consulting delivered some computers to the wonderful team at Marist 180 (Marist Youth Care), a small gesture but hopefully the start of a partnership between our organisations and I was lucky enough to meet some of the team and learn more about the amazing work that they do on a daily basis. Marist 180 is a NFP that is 120 years old and supports at risk young people, their families & communities and are now one of the largest service providers for youth at risk in Australia. They provide services to over 4,000 young people and families every year and accommodate over 600 young people each night.

On a personal note, my partner has been working with the organisation for over 5 years and I have always been amazed by what they do. During her time with the organisation she has worked with at risk young people & families seeking asylum, it’s often a divisive topic to be sure but learning about these young people & families and what they have been through is a continuous reminder of how fortunate I, my family and my friends are to live in this great country. Whilst it’s not always smooth sailing I have seen first-hand the pride felt by the MYC staff at the success of their young people and the happiness that simple pleasures can bring these young people & families.

When the team at Sustainability first learned of MYC and the work that they do they couldn’t wait to be involved, I am proud to work with a business that understands how fortunate we are and recognises the importance of giving back.
