Senior Level 2 Support Engineer

COMPANY:
You will be working for a well established organisation, their product is fuelled through big data and they are one of the original innovators. They are a true market leader in their space. Having just completed one of the biggest deals to date, this would be a great time to be joining them.   

ROLE:
You will work closely with a Help Desk Engineer who will do the Level 1 support and report issues from customers. In this role you will be responsible for the day to day running and up keep of an enterprise system. You will implement change requests and identify improvements as part BAU work to address reoccurring problems.

YOU:
As the ideal candidate you will have strong communication and stakeholder management skills. You will have worked on web app infrastructure and similar enterprise systems for 7+ years. 

Technically you will have worked on a variety of operating systems, in particular UNIX, Solaris and Linux. You will have strong database skills and have knowledge of Oracle & SQL.  Importantly, you will have strong scripting skills, being competent with both Python & BASH. Basic knowledge of Hadoop would also be an advantage for you in securing this position.

TECHNOLOGY:
  • Experience troubleshooting apps in Windows, UNIX (Solaris, Linux), Apache/IIS Web Server, and WebSphere/Tomcat/WebLogic.
  • Intermediate experience in working with Oracle DB’s, DML/DDL SQLs and Store Procedures 
  • In depth knowledge of of Python and BASH scripting.
  • An understanding of Hadoop (HIVE/HQL)
  • Good experience with ITIL and ticketing workflows.
