Network & Systems Engineer - Public Cloud platform - $120K base

Brisbane | Full Time
Listed: 2021-09-21
The company

A mid-tier player in the finance space. Very well known, well respected business. They have a professional though down to earth culture.

The role is based in the CBD. There is though scope to do up to 4 days a week WFH.

IT is principally managed out of Sydney, but they are looking to grow their footprint more broadly. You will still have great support and plenty of people to bounce off, though you do also need to be comfortable working fairly autonomously.

The role

The company has very much embraced public cloud. 90% of their systems and services run off an Azure backbone (though they are increasingly look at moving toward a multicloud setup, almost certainly including AWS.

As such they are less an appliance based environment rather manage much of the network via the Azure tools.

They do still have a few routers and switches (some Cisco, some HP), as well as a fleet of Netscaler Load Balancers

The role is a mix of Project and BAU. Their sdWAN is still rather new, and will need ongoing evolution. The AWS piece will also become bigger on their radar over the coming months.

So what are we looking for?

It's utterly key that this person comes out a networking role in a PAAS/IAAS environment (ideally Azure based).

Experience & certs with firewalls, routers & switchers, load balancers, etc can't hurt, but this is all about the public cloud piece.

We also wants someone who is friendly, professional, a good communicator, and is quite independent.

What's in it for you?
  • A very healthy 120K base (plus super)
  • A friendly, professional environment
  • A CBD location, with plenty of scope to also WFH
  • A very current tech environment
  • A great name for the CV

Interested? Well apply now. Don't bother with a cover letter. Your CV will speak for itself.
